True love needs no sight.

A young man fell deeply in love with a young lady who was blind. Although very beautiful and talented, she was also bitter in regard to her affliction. But he repeatedly spoke of his undying love and proposed marriage assuring her the blindness only increased his affection but she refused saying her blindness would always remain an obstacle to any happy marriage. Finally, however, someone donated their eyes to her, and miracle of miracles, she now could see! But imagine her shock when she realized that her lover was also blind! Now that she could see, the young man once again proposed marriage but was told she still could not enter into this arrangement for his blindness would be a painful reminder of her previous condition. The young man replied that of course he understood and wished her the very best. A year later he received a wedding invitation from this ex-blind girl announcing her upcoming marriage to a wealthy business man, asking him if possible to attend the ceremony. She soon received his answer stating this would not be possible due to his condition but wished her all the happiness in the world, and promised she would always remain in his prayers. After signing the letter, he added this postscript – “Please take special care of my eyes.”
